Amy

I heard about CSC when I was a Junior in high school. Paul Healy came and spoke at my church one morning. He talked about how some day they were praying to have a school for the kids at CSC and how some day they would need teachers. I remember sitting in the pew that Sunday thinking "Some day I'm going to teach there." I finished college, majoring in elementary and special education, in 1998. Throughout college, I prayed for CSC and shared with my friends about how some day, Lord willing, they would be opening a school in Cebu City, Philippines and how I would like to teach there in the future. A month before I was to graduate, I heard that CSC was looking for teachers to start teaching at Children of Hope School in July. I knew God was calling me there and that CSC was the place for me. Three months later I was on my way to Cebu! I taught for two years at COHS and returned to the States for three years. In 2003 I returned to Cebu and have recently become a permanent staff member.

Thank You

I spent this past weekend back home in Kulm.  I grew up in Kulm and lived there all of my life until going off to college.  I have come to know and love a lot of people there.

I had the opportunity this last weekend to share about CSC at my home church, Kulm Baptist. What a blessing it was to be back home with everyone and to see so many dear people who impacted my life as a child.  Kulm Baptist Church will always have a special place in my heart, as that is where I came to know Christ and where I first heard about CSC. What a difference those two things have made in my life. WOW!

Thank you for sharing the message of God's love and forgiveness with me. Thank you also for supporting CSC for so many years so that I would have the opportunity to hear about God's ministry in Cebu and eventually become a part of it.  My life has been forever changed by these two events, and I am so thankful for all of you dear people who have been a part of it.

Family

We believe at CSC that every child deserves a family. Our staff works with each child who comes to CSC to help prepare him/her for a family.  For some, CSC will be their family while others will be joining adoptive families around the world.

I am currently back in the States this year spending time with my family, sharing about CSC, and connecting with former CSC kids and their adoptive families. I have been reminded numerous times in the past months about what a blessing it is to be able to spend time with and be part of a family.  I have enjoyed spending time with my mom and siblings, seeing my nieces and nephews, and being around for holidays and special occasions.

I have also had the opportunity to have lunch with former CSC kids and their families, be invited to birthday parties, and attend sporting events and many other activities. What a blast it has been to see the kids and to spend time with them and their adoptive families.  Every child deserves a family and at CSC we will continue to help make that possible for as many children as we can.

A Dream Come True

The kids at CSC love to go to school.  The preschoolers are especially excited when it is finally their turn to be able to start.  Jashly was no exception to this rule. She has been asking for about the last 8 months if she could go to school. She has watched her eight other siblings leave for school the last few years and come home each day with exciting reports.  Even though I was not there this year to watch Jashly and her eight other preschool friends on the first day of school, I can imagine the joy and excitement in each one of the kids! I know that one of 3 year old Jashly's dreams has come true!!

Summer Fun!

Well the kids summer sports activities have ended along with summer school, but the summer fun continues. This week the kids went out to eat with staff, shopping, running errands, biking, and spent hours on the basketball court, rollerblades, bikes, volleyball court and just hanging out with each other.  They are looking forward to some upcoming sleep overs, movie nights and more basketball.  Children of Hope School kids start school on June 29, but the high school and college students will be starting this coming week and next.  Please pray for Analiza, John Ray and Jeneviev as they start their first year of high school this week.  Here are some photos of the kids who participated in badminton, art, basketball, swimming, and guitar.
